Gladwell, Walton, and Stephen all had somewhat similar approaches to the new rise of social media. Gladwell write of racial activism and seemed to have mixed feelings about the rise of social media because while it was a portal to allow many people to join and connect for the sit-ins, it also allowed police to easily find evidence and give in to social pressures and opinions. Stephen takes a more definitive approach saying that social media has allowed for positive impacts like hashtags to spread awareness. Walton seems to aline more with Gladwell and says that social media allows politicians to gage public opinion in an accessible way, but along with that comes issues of unwanted leaks and exposure. My personal opinion is that social media is very positive, but I still have concerns about they way backlash, and negative videos can spread just as easily as positive ones.
