I found an example article on medium by Amrit Hallan called “An example of lies about Hinduism being propagated in Western media”. This article is kind of all over the place when it comes to what it is countering. It starts by speaking of Trump and people’s views of his opinions and how it creates their own opinions. The he moves in to his next topic in which he counters several writers on their opinions of India’s culture. Hallan suggests that people who are going to write about a culture or about what one nation dose they need to either have been there to see it or actually have a serious grasp on what they are saying. He uncovers the values of knowledge, culture, and the art of knowing instead of making assumptions. Hallan dissents his activists opinion by saying that the judgement on cultures and/or other people is misguided from lack of experience or total understanding of what is being written about. Some problems with this are that he does not identify the people that he is claing are wrong only saying “she said”, or “the activist” and he also does not quote “her” words, using only quotes from others that “she” had in her writing.
