Blog Post 3: Countering

In “Binge Reading Disorder” the author shows a great example of what Harris calls countering. The author uses many examples from other authors views and ideas about the issue of online/digital reading, and analyzes these positions in order to pivot them in support of her position. The author not only lays out the position of other authors, but shows wholes in the argument and shows what the opposition has “left undone”. The author of this piece is very civil in their dissent by highlighting good points of each side of he issue, while still being able to turn every value uncovered in support of her poition herself.
