Eachthing to present at European Food Venture Forum 2019
The ninth edition of the European Food Venture Forum will take place next week, September 4– 5, in Eachthing’s hometown of Aarhus, Denmark.
Whether co-founder and COO, Katja Meyer will have homeground advantage when pitching Eachthing on stage, no one can tell. Although one thing is sure, if you ask her;
“I think the number of international startups who are taking the trip to Aarhus to pitch is a proof that this event is worth travelling for. With that being said, I’m excited about the prospect of not having to travel for once.”
Katja is especially alluding to Eachthing’s trip to the US to present for industry giants such as Walmart at Launch Circular, and their upcoming trip to Tel Aviv to join the Nordic Foodtech Bootcamp in Israel by invitation of the Danish Innovation Centre in Tel Aviv.
Founder of Eachthing Sven Philipsen presented the startup at European Food Venture Forum 2018, and reflects on the experience;
“Last year was great, but we have come such a long way since then. Some of the biggest milestones is for Katja to join the founding team and for us to launch the Eachthing platform and onboard the first consumers. We have so many interesting projects and collaborations coming our way, proving that events like the European Food Venture Forum really drives the valuable meetings between startups, corporates and research.”
It isn’t just on the team and execution side that Eachthing has rocketed. The startup has gotten a lot of recognition this past year. Eachthing won Business Region Aarhus’ Sustainable Startup and Tech Startup of the year. They have been accepted to +Impact Accelerator (Danke Bank, SingularityU Nordic, Katapult), the Nordic Foodtech Bootcamp (Danish Innovation Centre Tel Aviv, Danish Food Cluster). By invitation, they have also joined the National Think Tank against Foodwaste (DK) and the Global Electronics Councils Purchaser Guide for Circularity (US).
European Food Venture Forum
About 30 foodtech entrepreneurs looking for external private capital have been selected from more than 100 applications. Investors, corporates and key players active in the food sector from across Europe will form an Expert Jury to determine the top performing companies. The winners from the Venture Forum will have the unique opportunity to present at the European Venture Contest Final 2019. When asked about the competition, Katja Meyer tells;
“It’s always fun to win, but honestly just having the opportunity to present in front of VCs, corporate leaders, policy makers and other industry experts is already a win. To exchange knowledge and create business cooperations is essential for foodtech startups like Eachthing to succeed.”
The Forum is hosted by Agro Business Park A/S, Business Region Aarhus, City of Aarhus, Danish Food Cluster, Future Food Innovation and sponsored by Arla Foods and Venture IQ. In addition, it is supported by Agro Food Park, CPH Food Space, Danske Bank, Enterprise Europe Network, Ernst & Young, Keystones and Kromann Reumert.
