Have you ever been to a live podcast? Since you’re reading this, you’re a podcast fan, so the chances are that you’ve been to at least one live podcasting event.

If so, then you know that live podcasting is exhilarating and dynamic and codifies the connection between the podcaster and the audience.

I was fortunate enough to attend a live recording of the Salad With A Side Of Fries podcast on July 25, 2024. The live recording was set up at the Civic Hall building — which is architecturally unique — in the East Village of Manhattan.

The occasion was a celebration of five years — and 490 episodes — of the Salad With A Side Of Fries podcast. If you’re not familiar with the show — if not, you should definitely listen to it — here’s the show’s mission statement: “We’re talking wellness and weight loss for real life, which includes drinking, eating out, and skipping the grocery store. What’s a life without fries and dessert, anyway?!

Every Wednesday we clear up myths, misinformation, bad science & marketing surrounding our nutrition knowledge and the food/diet industry.”

I attended with my cousin John, who is a podcast superfan, and arrived early. Jenn was already there and greeted everyone warmly who walked in to the room.
