Death’s 1995 album Symbolic is usually ranked among the band’s best records if you go by the internet.

It’s difficult to disagree. As opposed to the previously reviewed Spiritual Healing, which sounded somewhat lost and uncertain, Symbolic sounds focused and confident. Much like its two predecessors, this album continues to see Schuldiner push his boundaries both musically and lyrically.

Weirdo who writes futurist-tinged columns about technology and science’s impact on society by night. Unfortunately, 2020 compels me to do politics too.
