WEDNESDAY 15 JULY 2020.
Today is
WEDNESDAY 15 JULY 2020.
Chatting has come a long way. Some of us started with Yahoo Messenger, then Hi5. 2go was baba and BBM scattered the ground. However, Whatsapp seems to lead it all today.
When people enter your DM, they want to chat with you and seeing your smiling face as your profile picture makes communication sweeter, smoother and better, especially when they picked your number from a group or somewhere else.
People want to know that they are chatting with you and not some machine or fictitious person. It doesn’t sell you well to have a logo, quote or another person’s image as your profile picture.
If you want to have a WhatsApp for your business, fine. The rule is simple when you stay behind a company or business logo on social media; always introduce yourself in every chat. Why? So I would know who I am chatting with. Else, my mind may think I am chatting with one of the staff of the company.
Do something like “welcome to The Alright’s Passion. This is Earl Alright chatting with you.”
Use your proper (and nickname) as your profile name. People should be able to identify your person by your name in WhatsApp groups.
I have learned people prefer to relate with consultants directly than through another medium. So use your face, your own face for your WhatsApp. You may use your logo for the office WhatsApp.
With Bluestack, you can clone your office WhatsApp on your computer without getting a new phone. With Parallel Space, you can duplicate another WhatsApp on your phone to enable you to have 2 Whatsapp on your mobile device.
Try to separate your person from your business. When people contact you, let them meet you when they contact your business, let the front desk officer (you, still) respond to them. Of course, private people do not respond to chats like corporate representatives. One uses I”, the other uses “we.” One uses slang, the other talks formally.
You Rock!
