Paradise is the lesser of Call of Duty: Vanguard Season One’s two new maps, and was released on December 8. It was originally designed for 6v6 matches in standard Multiplayer Modes, though it is also available at multiple combat pacing’s. Set during the day, Paradise is a pretty wide-open map with some impressive vistas. It is ideal for objective-based game modes, but that’s about where its idealism ends. A weapons testing site somewhere in the Pacific Ocean hosts all task force Operators for joint exercises. Medium-sized three-lane-style map featuring an underground tunnel and pools of toxic waste.

Paradise is a weaker map in Call of Duty: Vanguard. It is large, wide, and kind of bland. There really isn’t all that much to see here, though its wide-open spaces do juxtapose nicely with the laneways you can see on the Mini-Map (but we’ll get to that in a minute). When playing on higher combat pacing this map can be relatively nice, but so far we are relatively unimpressed. Here is our Paradise Map Guide!
Paradise: The Map
Paradise is supposed to be a weapons testing facility in the Pacific Ocean. The medium-large sized battles that you will fight here weave between different corridors and small hills that litter the beautiful landscape. In the background you can see what seems to be parts of an archipelago of Pacific Islands, and the whole thing is insanely gorgeous to look at. That all being said, there is just something profoundly confusing about Paradise. It’s hard to keep your bearings, and the more open area that sits in the North Area of the map ends up being the main combat arena, with the winding corridors acting purely as a method of flanking the opposition. Paradise Gameplay Overview & Tactics
We’re kind of unsure with Paradise, because its wide-open space hints at the need for longer-ranged weaponry, but the corridors require something good for short-range encounters. Whilst we weren’t the biggest fans of Gavutu, at least it was relatively consistent (apart from that beach area), so you knew what you kind of needed to bring. In the case of Paradise, it is very uncertain due to the nature of the map itself. Those corridors require things like SMGs and Shotguns, but those wider areas lend themselves to Snipers and DMRs.
There’s also the matter of the maps interior sections which, whilst rather minor, do pose a bit of a challenge. We would recommend sticking to that central area as much as you can, so that you can wrack up your kills and level your weapon for Warzone (that’s what we’re all really here for, after all). Use those side alleyways to flank your opponents, and make sure to coordinate with your team. Enjoy the Vistas too, they’re freakin’ beautiful!
Now comes the tricky part: take an Assault Rifle with some decent range, perhaps use our Automaton setup, or even the new Cooper Carbine. Then pair that with a Sniper, something like a Kar98k, and some decent lethals. We would recommend Thermite or Incendiary Grenades. Apart from that, make sure that you Perks are increasing your speed and accuracy. Look, Paradise might not be the best map to ever grace our screens, but we do have to admit that it’s pretty bloody fun when done right… so play with friends!
