Marvel vs DC Fighting Game Could Be Coming Soon!
The maker of Mortal Kombat is teasing us all
Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and Injustice, teased us all hard. The NetherRealm Studios creative director went to Twitter to hint that a Marvel vs DC fighting game could be coming soon!
In the comic book world, Marvel and DC characters have butted heads a few times and that’s the way we like it. Who wouldn’t want to see Iron Man vs Superman? Everyone wants that! Unfortunately, we live in a corporate nightmare, so the prospects of a Marvel vs DC crossover look rather bleak these days….
Is A Marvel vs. DC Fighting Game Coming?
The American god-king of the fighting game genre, NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon, has been dropping hints on Twitter that make it look like a Marvel vs. DC Fighting Game is coming. For context, in addition to Mortal Kombat, NeatherRealm Studios also made Injustice, a game famous for having DC characters punch each other in the face. Also, the studio releases a game every two years, and since Mortal Kombat 11 is from 2019, so a new Fighting Game from NetherRealm Studios should be coming this year.

One last bit of context: director James Gunn is known for Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel), but also made the soon-to-be-released Suicide Squad 2 ( DC). Now let’s take a look at Mr. Boon’s tweet….
Wow. @JamesGunn has managed to work on DC and MARVEL movies. That’s impressive. https://t.co/A4Yk437MuM

You know the internet rule: when someone posts this emoji, there’s always more to the statement. Ed Boon has already made a game with DC and emphasized that you can work with DC and Marvel together? Come on, how obvious can it get that NeatherRealm are working on a Marvell vs DC fighting game!
Ok… I got a bit carried away. Of course, this is all still pure speculation — NeatherRealm Studios hasn’t officially announced anything yet. But: E3 is coming up, and the studio is usually always part of the show. We’re not saying that a Marvel vs DC fighting game is definitely 100% coming…. but we certainly hope so.
