Can a reality TV show about farming feed everyone on the planet?
This may read like a rhetorical question, but I assure you it is not. There is absolutely no hyperbole in this headline.
This is an actual call to eco and or entertainment stakeholders to imagine the cascade of social impact possibilities attached to a young Nigerian entrepreneur Emmanuel Abuhson — creator of Agrovest — a reality TV show sparking a #feedchain of innovation for our entire ecosystem’s food supply.
The Future of Food & Television
With a focus on the mentorship of young entrepreneurs ages 18–38 in agribusiness, especially women, Agrovest airs its first season in Africa in October, but it’s intended for ultimate filming and distribution in the US and beyond. It will run for 60 days, 24 hours straight, with 30 participants competing for a prize of $20,000 USD. It’s the ‘Big Brother’ or ‘Survivor’ of Food Security Innovation.
