Wildfires in Turkey

“The 2021 Turkish wildfires are over a hundred wildfires mostly in the southern provinces of Turkey, and the worst in the country for more than 10 years. The wildfires started in Manavgat, Antalya on 28 July 2021, with a temperature around 37 °C (99 °F). As of 30 July 2021, a total of 17 provinces, including Milas, Adana, Osmaniye, Mersin and Kayseri were affected by simultaneous wildfires.” — Wikipedia

Until now 8 people were reported to have died (some of them being firefighters). Some of the worst fires are located around the very touristic area of Bodrum. More than 4000 tourists staying at some of the holiday's resorts of Bodrum had to be evacuated by boats on the weekend. The satellite image below shows the extent of the wildfire in that area with the help of two visualisations:

The fires have been raging across the southern Turkish riviera since Wednesday. The subsequent satellite images taken by Sentinel-3 show their extent and how they have moved over the last couple of days:
