The Culture of Collaboration Workshop with Dave Hall and Kjell van Zoen at the GoGreen Conference
I recently attended the Culture of Collaboration Workshop at the GoGreen Conference. The session focused on engaging employees and coworkers through cooperative collaboration using the LEAN Workflow Efficiency Model.
LEAN evolved from the efficient methods used by the Japanese businessmen who created the Toyota Production System.
The main concept of a collaborative culture, whether it be in business, philanthropic endeavors, or domestic use, is to engage everyone at every level to come up with solutions to simple problems. The people who are doing specific jobs usually know where production shortcomings are, and some of them can even help you solve these issues. Thus, engaging everyone in the conversation produces better results because it activates everyone to participate and feel empowered to enact change. And empowerment squelches apathy, as it gives everyone a sense of ownership over their projects.
The workshop was presented by Dr. Dave Hall and Kjell van Zoen, who both brought a lively sense of humor to the topic. Here are some links to websites that may be of interest on this presentation:
