Robots Will Take Our Jobs Will They?

We’ve all read the headlines, robots and AI are going to take over all of our jobs. But how do us artists fare in this new world order?

Remember when you were embarking on your career in the arts, and your teachers, friends and parents were all concerned you wanted to be an artist. “There’s no money in it”, they said, “why not study economics and do business/accounting/[insert bland corporate job here] instead?

Well, I have some good news! The BBC produced an interactive chart of how a likely a job type is to be replaced by a robot or artificial intelligence, using data from a study by the University of Oxford and Deloitte. Artists are in the top 4% of professions LEAST likely to be automated. Accountants, on the other hand, are in the top 5% MOST likely to become automated.
