East Coast Beaches
Throughout the entire east coast, various exotic and lively beaches pervade the area. They extend from South Beach in Miami, to Coney Island Beach, New York. Going to the beach is a preferred vacation spot in contrast to other alternatives due to several economic benefits and the enjoyment you receive. For instance, going to the beach saves money, has various activities, and is convenient because of the tourist attractions nearby.
A trip to the beach saves a considerable amount of money. For example, you don’t spend large amounts of money on things such as food, parking, water, and activities. Parking is usually low cost, because people pay using tolls. The tolls are not expensive because they’re government regulated. Other places to go on vacation charge valet parking, which comes out expensive. Some places charge you to park over night resulting in high costs when all of the nights are added together. At a beach you simply park in designated parking locations and pay the toll. Clearly, this is inexpensive and convenient which benefits families and all other vacationers. Additionally, food is always low cost. It’s an option to go to a cheap, “beachy”, restaurant where they serve food quickly. The restaurants know that people going there, want to go somewhere casual, where they don’t have to empty their wallets. There are tons of restaurants near the shores, so there is plenty to choose from. All one would have to do is step out of the sand, cross the street, and there are the restaurants.
There are a plethora of activities one can do at the beach. From sports to just lounging out, basking in the sun there’s plenty to do. The coast is a great spot to gather with friends and enjoy each other’s company. There are many beach games you can play. If there are enough friends, beach volleyball is loads of fun, and everyone is included. Ultimate Frisbee is a fun way to bond and the wind from the ocean usually makes it hard to throw, making it an interesting and tough game. Football is fun as well, since it is hard to run and plant feet into the sand to propel forward. Tanning is a great way to relax, whether it is after a long day of work or on the weekend. If tanning does not sound like a good time, bringing a big umbrella and a lounge chair is a fun way to unwind and watch the sea. Bonfires help tighten friendships and make for great parties. Marshmallows on a stick are a must and for dinner just use hot dogs. Picnics and barbeques are great ideas for families and friends. Fishing is fun and then there is free food, all one needs a rod and some bait. Just make sure the food doesn’t get all sandy! Surfing and boogie boarding are great forms of exercise. When the tide is moving fast and the waves are high, there is no better time to hop on a board and go catch the seas embrace. It is also a great place to meet people and form relationships. Collecting sea seashells can be a good time for all ages. If one is interested in making a little bit of money, bringing a metal detector to the beach is common, looking for hidden treasure, like old coins or jewelry people dropped. One could make thousands of dollars doing it. There is also plenty of art ideas to choose from. Sandcastles create crowds of people to watch and marvel at them and sculptures such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid are always pretty to see. The beach can also be extremely romantic. Walks along the water make for a hell of a date and it’s practically in every romance movie. For an added touch, go during the sunrise or the sunset.
There are plenty of tourist attractions to check out along the coast, near the shores. Coney Island Beach in New York is popping all year round with carnivals or big events like the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. There are always beach volleyball or basketball tournaments to join with friends and compete. There’s the Ferris wheel and roller coaster rides to go on and see the view form a high vantage point, while going on a thrilling ride. The New York Aquarium is nearby so checking that out is a must-do. The Abe Stark Ice Skating Rink is a great way to skate around and play hockey and practice figure skating. The Jersey Shore has the boardwalk all along it with tons of shops and carnivals all year round. There was even a television show based here “Jersey Shore” was a hit show featuring young adults that partied all the time and showed off things you could do on the coast of Jersey. After a couple of seasons of the show, it became a laughing stock with the way the people conducted themselves, but it showed off the fun people can have and all the crazy adventures that can be taken. South Beach in Miami, Florida boasts tons of things to do at night after a long day of soaking in the sun rays. There are many big time clubs to go to and party all night long.
The beach can be a magical place to go. It is a way to bond with family and friends, a great vacation spot, place to hang out, and explore the surroundings with all of the attractions to choose from. The East Coast provides plenty to choose from and there is sure to be something for all ages and fun for everybody.
