August 4: Boston to Brunswick
A few people told me that Portland, Maine, is a cute city to visit, so I’m planning to stop there today.
I leave Boston early to arrive in Portland for lunch. Once there, I follow a friend of Brenden’s advice and eat at Duckfat, a great little restaurant. I order a duck salad and their fries cooked in duck fat, pretty good.
Next, it’s time to sit down in a coffee shop to work. It’s quite hot outside, and I don’t feel like getting sunburns, so I stay inside most of the afternoon.
5 pm, it should be cooler outside, I walk a little but find the city looks like Old Montreal, and I’m not enthusiastic about it. I don’t know why I don’t like the vibe. Time to get back to the car.
Speaking of Montreal, I noticed earlier on the map a street named after the city, so I drive there to take a picture.

On the way, I drive along an outdoor festival in a park overlooking Casco Bay, with food trucks. I park the car, grab a hot-dog with an Asian twist, and join the crowd to enjoy a band playing some music.

The sun is about to set, so I drive further North to a motel in Brunswick, to avoid spending too much time on the road tomorrow. It’s going to be a long day.
