It’s happening! Marathon for Meals is back for round two! What is Marathon for Meals, you ask? Great, thanks for asking! Marathon for Meals is a charity stream that we, East Side Games, host to raise money for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. We host it over on our Twitch account which you can find HERE.

Last year, we raised over $4000 dollars with the help of studios and streamers from all over Vancouver. This year we have an entirely new docket filled with charismatic streamers and studio representatives. Let’s take a look, shall we?

First up, we have Dana from Red Hook Studios. If you don’t know Red Hook, you really should put them on your radar. Infamous for their brutal dungeon delver, Darkest Dungeon, they implement gorgeous 2D art and roguelike mechanics to create something very special. Just be ready to die… A lot.

Next up, Guy Judge is a variety Twitch partner. His channel is laser-focused on interacting with chat and building a friendly community. He describes his channel as “full of sarcasm, strong language, and all the other great things in life.” So, buckle up!

Also on the docket, we have Kate Stark. Back in 2016, Kate made a resolution to “create more”, and she’s been doing that in spades. She’s a full-time content creator now, streaming 5+ days a week, which is bananas if you ask us. Check out her Youtube Channel for an interesting behind-the-scenes look at her streaming life.

This is Artren’s second year joining us, and we’re happy to have him back. He’s always a friendly face at Vancouver’s Twitch and Full Indie events. Be sure to drop by and you’ll see what we mean.

Power Up Audio… We can’t say enough positive words about this team. Even if their name doesn’t ring a bell, their work is sure to ring the biggest bell you’ve ever heard. Just this year, Power Up Audio has created sounds and music for Celeste, Into the Breach, Super Meat Boy, Griftlands, Tunic, and so much more. Last year, they demoed an early version of Celeste and Into the Breach, which both won a ton of awards this year. Who knows what they’ll give us a glimpse of this time around.

Jesse Turner, also known as The Drawbarian, is an absolute gem of a human being. Having worked on the stunning Viking Squad, and on the up-and-coming Grift Lands, Jesse knows what he’s doing. Last year he provided an amazing art stream, creating a radical illustration with the help of chat. He’ll be back pouring his creative energy into the stream this year. Drop by and lend him a hand. Maybe you’ll even learn something about art!

Hothead Games will also be stopping in this year. They’re a mobile game studio based here in Vancouver JUST like us! They’re the brilliant minds behind Hero Hunters and Killshot, which both push the boundaries on what mobile games can be. They’ll be playing some goofy games and we don’t suggest missing it.

The rest of the time will be filled by us, East Side Games! Our employees are banding together to bring you laughs and entertainment! Want to see them as fantasy characters? Well, there will be a little bit of Dungeons and Dragons magic going down in the early evening, so maybe roll the dice on that. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, there will also be some EXTREME Sims action in the after hours and Oregon Trail earlier in the day.

We can’t wait to see you all in chat this year, raising money for a good cause, and in general, just being awesome human beings. As they say in the biz, be there or be square!
