Welcome again to our series of regular In Case You Missed It (ICYMI) cleantech news blog posts. These blog posts feature some of the most interesting, compelling and/or impactful cleantech news of the week.

This week’s highlights include Tesla CEO Elon Musk announcing that the company will be releasing a second version of the Tesla Powerwall this summer; Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric receiving approval to deploy electric-vehicle chargers as utility infrastructure pilot projects; and Morocco officially turning on a massive solar power plant in the Sahara Desert.

Here are some of the top stories in cleantech this week:

· SOLAR: Morocco has officially turned on a massive solar power plant in the Sahara Desert capable of generating up to 160 megawatts of power, reported NPR’s Camila Domonoske.

· RENEWABLES: Renewable energy was the biggest source of new power added to U.S. electricity grids in 2015, reported Bloomberg’s Joe Ryan.

· UTILITIES: Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas & Electric received approval to deploy electric-vehicle chargers as utility infrastructure pilot projects, reported Greentech Media’s Jeff St. John.

· INVESTMENT: Greentech Media’s Eric Wesoff rounded-up the top cleantech financing news in January as records amount of capital continues to flow into renewable energy.

· ENERGY STORAGE: Gavin Bade of Utility Dive reported that Tesla will be releasing a second version of the Tesla Powerwall this summer.
