What do you miss about Eastwick the most?

The camaraderie.

What was it like going from working for a PR agency to working for VentureBeat?

A big transition. But I do try to be kind and as responsive to folks in PR as I can be. I remember what it was like!

As Eastwick continued growing in the mid-2000’s and established itself as a communications force in Silicon Valley, it started taking bigger creative risks in both its client pitches and its campaigns. This month, as we look back to our work with Azul Systems, Seagate, and ShoreTel, we see just how much imagination our team brought to the table for these powerhouse clients.

Client Highlights

Formation Data Systems is transforming the enterprise storage market because of its unique approach to innovation across the industry. In June, it was clear that it was delivering an innovative new product feature that addressed real customer pain points, but there was one small problem in the PR plan — the company didn’t have a customer that was quite ready to be a public reference. Strategically weighing up the strength of the feature’s newsworthiness and the assets that could be leveraged for media, Eastwick worked with Formation Data Systems to announce this product news at Cloud Expo in NY where the team secured a speaking session for CEO Mark Lewis earlier that year. By crafting a strong story for the top media targets, we secured 8 briefings with business, tech, and trade press including CRN, TechTarget, Enterprise Tech, Storage Switzerland & The Register. This resulted in 12 in-depth company feature articles in top titles such as Network World, IT Business Edge,TechTarget & CRN.

Building upon its massive success among consumers — from TED keynotes to classroom lectures, Prezidecided to take its technology, already in use by over 75M global users, and adapt it to the workforce with new features and capabilities specifically designed to enhance productivity, improve decision making and drive sales. When they were gearing up to launch the new product, dubbed Prezi Business, they turned to Eastwick. Eastwick quickly went to work, creating a strategic communications plan, establishing relationships with influential press and hosting a media Salon Dinner with publications like the Financial Times, the SF Business Times and TechCrunch. The launch culminated in coverage in top tier outlets like Fortune, Forbes,IDG and Inc.
