How to grow Microgreens

The tiny leaf vegetables we call microgreens grow from seeds and are ready for harvest when their first true leaves appear, usually only a week or two after planting. Fenugreek and Mustard are some commonly founds seeds in the kitchen to grow. Mustard microgreens have a peppery taste and fenugreek is slightly bitter.

These microgreens are not only healthy and tasty, they make great companion plants, when grown as adult plants and not as mircogreens. The strong smell of fenugreek plant and the bright yellow flower of mustard plants repels pests, as full grown plants.

Below is the step by step guide to grow microgreen sent to us by Aarav.

(Materials required : A pot with holes (You can reuse any available container), Soil, Seeds and Water.

Step 2: put soil into the plant pot.
Step 3: put the seeds in the pot.
Step 4 : Cover the soil with thin layer of soil and water( sprinkle).

Fenugreek leaves grow quickly, You can harvest by clipping the tops with scissors, and add them in you salad, daal or any dish. They are slightly bitter but tasty and nutritious.
