Using dry leaves or dry kitchen waste to cover bare soil rejuvenates the soil by slowing decomposing and becoming nutrients for the soil. It also keeps moisture intact, enables more microbial life to live under the cool leaf cover, and completely eliminates the need for any external fertilizers for a healthy soil.

(Closed Loop Ecosystem)

Students Collected dry leaves and twigs found in their backyard, apartment complex, and even street. The more diverse the mulch (dry leaves from different trees/plants and kitchen onion peels) the better.
