Minga

The one Korean restaurant where I splurge on food.. and it’s worth it.

From its cheesy ddeokbokki to its tender kalbi, Minga has dishes to suit every palate.

The cheese in the ddeokbokki pairs well with the spicy kick of the sauce. It adds another dimension of creaminess and stringy cheesy goodness to this traditional Korean rice cake dish.

The kalbi is cooked to perfection and can be eaten on its own or with rice.

And as for the casserole —

The chicken and potato casserole is to die for.

We had the spicy version of it, to give it an extra zing.

And I had my first bingsoo there, too. It was alright — I think I prefer Taiwanese shaved ice/cream to Korean shaved ice. It’s a different texture and sweetness level. And I’m biased because of my Taiwanese heritage, so there’s that, too.

10/10 would recommend Minga as a lovely family-style Korean restaurant to try, when you have the time. It’s not too far from Durham!
