In three sentences, here’s some background about myself:

I grew up in rural Indiana; my father loves to garden and my mother is a top-notch cook. Despite that, I love junk food and fake food, though I’ve found smart ways to corral my cravings :)

After living in DC for ten years, my family — which consists of my patient husband, elementary school age son and 2 demanding dogs — recently moved to New Jersey.

I’ve always loved design (graphic design, web design, interior design); that, plus my interest in the power of information made web/app design a natural fit for me.

Here’s what I do for my job at EatLove:

  • User Experience Design — make sure the product works in a cohesive manner that makes sense to our users
  • User Research — gathering targeted feedback to inform my work above

My favorite thing about working for EatLove is…

EatLove is fueled by passion, energy, and optimism.

Why does food matter?

Food is the heart of everything: how we nourish ourselves, care for our loved ones, and connect to our past. Whether you’re packing a lunch, digging out your grandmother’s old recipe, or catching up with your family around the dinner table, food is the common thread that connects us.

I believe in EatLove’s commitment to health through food because…

Every choice matters, but not every choice needs to be a big deal. Small choices add up to big changes over time. As a society, we love big dramatic makeovers but it’s the lasting changes that really make an impact. EatLove is committed to helping you make the best choices that are right for you; we are in it for the long haul.

My favorite recipes on EatLove are…

I’m a huge fan of “template” recipes during the week; so I love overnight oats (Berry Overnight Oats, specifically) for breakfast and burrito bowls (Burrito Bowl) for quick dinners. Meal hack: once you know what you like, you can swap out ingredients to keep things interesting. I have a whole smoothie drawer filled with dried fruits, coconut chips, protein powders, ready to throw into a blender or add to the top of a blended bowl.

In my free time, you will catch me…

Studying Japanese, running with my local run club, reading my favorite graphic novels.
