Yet, as a designer, you still need the very best software to build your portfolio and get clients.

Adobe CC pricing & plans can be tricky — there are so many different options, plans and apps that is hard to wrap your head around all of it.
Adobe always tries to sell you Creative Cloud All Apps, but you don’t have to pay for what you won’t use.
You can buy Adobe apps separately — just Photoshop or Illustrator alone, or in packages — for graphic design, for video editing, for UI/UX design and so on.
Add to it the type of your plan (student, idividual, business etc.) and length of subscription — you can end up pretty confused!
That’s why I’ve put together a quick guide to give you some clarity on how to get the best Adobe Discounts in 2023.
Here’s my guide on how to get best deals on Adobe CC for new and existing users.
How To Get Adobe Deals For New Users:
- Determine your eligibility for student discount (or other discounted plans).
- Decide on whether you need a single app, a bundle or the entire Creative Cloud.
- Choose between monthly or yearly payment plan (additional savings).
How To Get Adobe Deals For Existing Users:
- Try to cancel your subscription and choose “price” as the reason.
- Get either 60 days for free or you can ask customer service to get a custom discount.
- Enjoy you special offer for loyal customers (thank me later).
Extra tip — You can also buy single app like Photoshop and then go to your account and upgrade to the entire suit.
If you do that, you will pay less that you normally would if you signed up for the entire Creative Cloud right away.
1. Adobe Discount for Students
Is Adobe free for students? — No, but students get the best deal that Adobe has to offer right now.
How to get Adobe discount for students?
While students don’t get Adobe for free, they get the most savings — over 60%!
However, a lot of people don’t realize that you DO NOT have to be a full-time student in order to qualify.
So how to get student discount? — you can simply enroll part-time, take some night-classes or even buy some online courses.
So what are the eligibility requirements to quality for Adobe for students discount?

In order to get the student discount, all you need to do is to provide some proof of your education enrollment.

However, I know many people who got special adobe pricing for students (when they qualified) and now they keep saving money long after they graduated.

If you can’t get Adobe discount for students (which is the best deal), you can still end up saving some money using regular plan for individuals.
How to get Adobe discount for individuals?
As an individuals you can still save more than 35% on Creative Cloud if you choose to pay for the entire year upfront.
Of course it won’t be as good as getting the student or teacher discount, but you can still save quite a lot on your subscription overall.
In general, it’s wise to prepay for the entire year to get the very best discount on adobe software — no matter what plan you choose.
On individual plan (and any other plan) you can also get a free month of Adobe Stock when you add it to a new or existing Creative Cloud membership.
That’s basically 10 free premium photos from Adobe Stock that you don’t have to pay for!

3. Adobe Photoshop Discount
As mentioned earlier, you don’t have to actually get the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suit.
Adobe often pushes the CC All Apps, but you can get Photoshop alone if you don’t need other apps.

Photoshop is probably the most used Adobe app of all (especially by photographers) so if you’re using it a lot — getting a deal would be much appreciated.

Plus, you can save even more if you decide to prepay for the entire year.

There are no other special offers on single apps like illustrator or InDesign.
4. Creative Cloud All Apps Discount
If you need more than just Photoshop (like most designers do) — you need to go for the entire Creative Cloud All Apps collection.

Creative Cloud is a package of all 20+ creative desktop and mobile apps including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and many more.
If you buy every single app separately — even if you just need 3 of them — you’ll end up spending much more than if you chose the whole Creative Cloud suit.
Adobe knows that most designer probably needs just 3–4 apps that they use regularly and that’s why their plans & pricing is structured this way.
For example: as a logo designer I need mostly Illustrator for designing vectors, but also Photoshop is a must when it comes to creating mockups, and it’s nice to have InDesign or even Adobe XD as well.
Graphic designers usually do design different things and therefore need different apps that were created for that particular creative discipline.
Currently, the best deal on Adobe Creative Suite is to try to get the Student discount (described above).
5. Bonus: Adobe Stock Discount
As the bonus for you, it’s worth mentioning that you can get a free month of Adobe Stock when you add it to a new or existing Creative Cloud membership.
Matter of fact, you don’t even have to sign up for any subscription — you can just use the Adobe Stock discount on it’s own by going to stock.adobe.com and clicking the banner “free trial”.
6. How To Get Adobe CC For Free
Did you know that Adobe offers 7-day free trial on all of their creative software? — Just select your plan and give it a try for free.
You have to put down your credit card information, but you won’t be charged if you cancel before 7 days are up.
Adobe often raise prices on their subscriptions, so people tend to look for ways to either save money or get the software for free.
Can I get Adobe Creative Cloud for free? — theoretically you can, but it’s illegal.
There are some grey areas to get Adobe CC for free (or cheap) like:
- Using pirate versions of older Adobe software (not CC).
- Setting up new trials every week (abusing 7-day free trial).
- Sharing subscription with a friend and splitting the cost of a license.
I wouldn’t recommend doing none of the above, because first of all — it’s all illegal and you can get your account terminated by Adobe.
Second, you will loose on new features, instant updates, using creative cloud to store your files and other benefits.
I started my graphic design career on a pirate version of Adobe Photoshop 6, but I wouldn’t recommend using illegal methods nowadays.
Back then, the only option to get Adobe software was to buy the expensive license priced at thousands of dollars — and if you wanted to upgrade next year, you would have to pay again.
Now, thanks to subscription plans almost anyone can afford the Adobe software, and if you can’t — just start with 7-day free trial.
It’s also worth to mentioning that the 7 days time-frame is the only limit on the software, which means that you can create your designs and save them as long as you do it within those 7 days.
