Black EL — “Blueprint”
After taking some time off from releasing music throughout most of 2015, Black EL has been on a roll over the past few months. Every track from the Boston artist has shown growth and a diverse set of captivating soundscapes accompanied by thoughtful songwriting. Luckily for us, the recent string of high-quality records continues to grow with a new offering “Blueprint”, produced by none other than Black EL’s go-to guy Durkin.
Backed by a booming backdrop from Durkin, Black EL finds himself in a confident state of mind while still maintaining his usual level of composure on the track. “Blueprint” is another fine showing of EL’s knack for witty wordplay, but the most memorable part of the song is the chorus ‘plans on us why you think they took a chance on us, rain dance with us gonna keep going till the fam’s all up’, an accurate representation of the record’s message as a whole. Black EL’s poised flow is only becoming more polished over time and he is raising the bar for himself with each new track, which only bodes for great music on forthcoming project Anywhere But Here.
Listen to “Blueprint” below and read Black EL’s inspiration behind the song as told to Fact Magazine.
“I wrote Blueprint when I was at a point where my friends and I were really starting to move [and] grow as individuals in our respective crafts [and] lives. We all were figuring out who we were, what our purpose was, and how we can help each other get to our respective destinations. Life is only as enjoyable as the people you surround yourself with and the plans you make for tomorrow. Just remember to reflect, celebrate and adapt.”
