The notorious R.B.G, supreme court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a perfect representation of a successful thought leader. She may have not intended to become a TL, but that is the fascinating part of thought leadership. Almost every successful thought leader has a passion for a cause and they are willing to pursue it no matter the odds.

They don’t think about becoming a figure of power and respect. That comes with the process of having an impact on the world.

Ginsburg did just that. She defied all odds and changed the world for the better with her fights against gender discrimination and unifying of the liberal block of the court. As I’ve said before, to become a successful thought leader in any field. One must first understand and grasp the problems that he/she would encounter when engaged in their field.

She faced gender discrimination throughout her life both in the education and work environment. When she enrolled at Harvard Law, she was one of the nine females in a 500 person class. she faced gender-based discrimination from the highest authorities there, they punished her for taking a man’s position.
