3D Commerce is NOW

Back in 2017, 3D was unimaginable for the Web. It was given that Vehicles will be visualized by means of Images and Videos on the Website. Whereas AR/VR etc would be for Dealerships and Other Offline Promotions.

In 2017, we thought of challenging this Norm. We believed that 3D Visualization should not be confined to an Exclusive Few who have access to Special Devices. Moreso, we did not want People to download an Application to experience Products. Who does that anyway? Our task was cut out- Provide Immersive 3D Experiences of Vehicles on the Web. This was a Key Problem we wanted to solve using One 3D, our Visualization Platform.

Last 3 Years have been Intense but eventful. Not only have we deployed 3D Visualization on the Web, we have helped our OEM Partners develop Properties around it. This includes Configurators, 360, Exclusive Feature Showcase. More Importantly, Dealers have acknowledged and accepted 3D Visualization with Open Arms. They use it to display the entire Range of Cars and Accessories to their Customers, irrespective of Vehicle Availability.

However, we knew all along that for One 3D to be a Major ‘Disruptor’ we had to enable ease of e-Commerce for Automotive. A lot of people I know questioned the relevance of eCommerce to the Automotive Industry. It was almost written in Stone ‘Research Online. Buy Offline’. This meant that Companies looked at Digital as means to Showcase the Product and Get Leads. The Marketing Budgets would go to the Search Engines, Aggregators, Social Networks, Video Production and Display Advertising. Leftovers were allocated to 3D Visualization or 3D Configurators.

3 months into 2020, everything changed. There was no Guarantee of Showrooms being open. Lesser guarantee of consistent Footfalls. It was as if Overnight, there was a need to create well rounded Online Purchase Experiences as a Survival Criteria. Visualization had to be an important aspect of it. That is when we knew that the time was Ripe for 3D Commerce. We worked on marrying the Best of 3D Visualization techniques with an Authentic e-Commerce experience. The outcome was an Online Purchase Experience for Tata Nexon EV, first ever deployment of 3D Commerce. We are overwhelmed with the Reviews & Feedback it has been getting from the Industry Veterans, Media and Customers.

Building 3D Commerce was not easy. It has taken us 3 Years of Efforts, Setbacks, Failures and many Sleepless Nights to be able to achieve this. We had to make the Cars look much more Real, in a size that is 1/3rd of what we were developing a Year back! Showing the Interiors in 3D allows us to Demonstrate the Car intuitively. For instance, Showing Seat Covers and Floor Mats in a Real time 3D representation on the Web is something which only One 3D provides, among all the Real time 3D Web Platforms. We have now made it extremely seamless to Integrate One 3D with other eCommerce Platforms and Websites. And we know it is just the beginning. There is much more Lined Up!

Whether we like it or not this is now the New Norm- Research Online. Explore Online. Decide Online. Book Online. Deliver Offline.
