Party Splitting Added for Quicker, More Balanced Matches
New matchmaking functionality has been added to split parties among both teams to try and balance matches and reduce wait times (typically between 22:00–05:00 PT, though it can take effect at any time). If your party has been waiting for 3 minutes, it’s likely you’ll be put into a match with some of your party on the other team. This change was added to reduce wait times and better balance teams.
If you don’t want your parties to ever split, please use private matches and check out the Echo Games Discord channel “#partyfinder” to find other parties to organize matches with.
Quick Match Party Size Increased to 6 Players
You can now queue up for Quick Match with 6 players in your party! You’ll all immediately be put into a public match (meaning if a player drops, a random player may late-join) and you’ll be randomly assigned teams. It also means that now random players can spectate your “not-so-private” match!
If you don’t have 6 friends and can only queue up with 4, Quick Match will find you two new friends and assign teams based on skill.
A stranger is just a friend I haven’t met yet.

Bug Fixes
Headbutt Exploit Fixed
Players will no longer be able to use this.
Late-Joining Post-Mercy-Matches is Fixed
You should no longer be joining a match that has ended due to the Mercy rule after it’s already over.
Punch/Block Crashes Fixed
Punching and blocking in the Arena should no longer cause a crash.
Butter Fingers Bug Fixed
Players can now have objects in the Lobby interact without them slipping from their grip.
