Patch Highlights

Mercy Rule Added to Quick Play

In efforts to reduce the amount of suffering in the case of a blowout, we’ll be deploying the “Mercy” feature with Patch 7.0. Mercy will be enabled as soon as there is a 12 point deficit between teams in a Quick Play match; when that happens, the match will immediately end, granting the win to the team with the most points.

Collision Update in the Arena

After noticing the disc bouncing unrealistically off the walls of the Arena, our technical artists made a full collision pass to help smooth things over. In the GIF below, you’ll notice that all the yellow (collision points) has been pushed to line up exactly with the purple layer, meaning your disc is far less likely to ricochet wildly when you’re trying to go for that sweet bounce shot.

Intel and VR Challenger League Branding

With the VR Challenger League arriving in IEM Katowice in early March, we’ve decided to update the Arena and the Lobby graphic wall with information about the sponsors (ESL, Intel, and Oculus) and the Top 8 teams competing. Make sure to tune in March 3rd and 4th and watch the best of the best throw down in Poland for 1st Place and 20,000 €!

General Updates & Bug Fixes

  • Improved server stability, which should hopefully address the “hourglass” issues that players encountered. If you continue seeing this, please let us know in the Echo Games Discord!
  • Toys in the Lobby should now respawn after a set amount of time. No more losing things through the Pali-Door!
  • The “Restart” button should no longer go missing in private matches. Tournaments should be much faster to get through now!
  • Player numbers will no longer show up as “00”. Use the customization terminal in the Lobby so you can show everyone your lucky numbers!

Known Issues

  • We’re still working on addressing various exploits and issues with “missed” grabs and are already working on a hotfix that we hope to deploy next week. Thanks for your patience!
  • As part of setting up props in the Lobby to respawn, a new bug was introduced where some props might slip out of your grip when you try to make them interact with each other. For example, if you try to use one of the bats to hit a ball, it’s more likely that the bat will fly out of your hands. We’re working on a fix to prevent these butter finger mishaps.
