Yesterday a patch was published live to implement the following:

  • We implemented some fixes for erroneous grabs in our patch notes. These changes were made to address and prevent exploits relating to players grabbing the air. Previously, it was possible to grab onto things your head was touching despite your hand being far from that object. This resulted in a lot of unintentional and offset grabs making it appear as though you grabbed midair. Now, you will not grab onto “empty space”. However, you should still be able to grab inside objects and surfaces which will position your hand on the nearest surface.
  • What this means for gameplay:
    — There should be less accidental cube grabs when flying through Arena tunnels and less goal rim grabs when trying to stop a disc going into goal. For Combat, the same is true for holo railings, holo cubes, and barriers. This change should also reduce grabbing incorrect places when flying through other players during regrabs.
    — Juking on thinner objects like the goal rim and barrier may be more challenging as it requires your hand to touch those surfaces. Additionally, the disc will no longer be grabbed when it is touching your head, unless your hand is on the disc.
    — There are still some edge cases that may cause erroneous grabs on holo cubes or rails so please bear with us as we look into that.
  • General preparations for Echo Pass Season 6, launching June 28 at 10:30AM PT.
  • General Echo Shop updates to prepare for Echo Pass Season 6.
  • Updated the Main Menu.
  • Live moderation through Game Admins has been introduced to enforce the Echo VR Code of Conduct. Learn more in our dev blog here: https://medium.com/echo-games-blog/echo-vr-dev-log-june-16-2022-6e08834dfcba .
