Jul 29.2017 — Change Log
Note: The latest patch only changes Echo Arena (however both apps will be updated since Lone Echo installs Echo Arena along with it).
Patch Highlights
Leaderboards have been disabled (temporarily).
We found that the leaderboards were encouraging unintended player behavior. We’re revisiting the purpose and design of leaderboards and will bring them back after some additional TLC.
Stats have been partially reset.
Wins, Losses, Shots On Goal, and Total Games Played stats have been reset. The first three stats were not being tracked accurately (Wins/Losses are still impacted at this time), and a reset was necessary for better tracking.
Due to the Win/Loss bug still being present in the latest update, it’s anticipated that a full stat reset for each player will be necessary to get tracking back on… track. This reset will not impact player levels.
Bug Fixes
- “Shots on Goal” stat fixed
- “Shadow” grabbing the disc can no longer occur
Known Issues
Critical
- Lone Echo owners will need to add the stand-alone Echo Arena app to their Oculus Library to launch Echo Arena through the Lone Echo Main Menu. Once that’s done, this will “entitle” your account and you can then boot Echo Arena from the Lone Echo main menu. You do not need to install the stand-alone Echo Arena app.
- Wins/Losses stats are still not being accurately tracked. This directly impacts skill-based matchmaking’s effectiveness, so you’ll be randomly matched with and against players of all skill levels.
- Players using the Windows 7 operating system are reporting a high frequency of connection errors such as “Cannot Connect to Server” at the main menu, or getting a blackscreen when connecting to a match and getting dropped back to the main menu. Players who have updated to Windows 10 report that these issues have almost entirely subsided.
UI
- Leaderboards appear blank — this is intentional as we have currently disabled leaderboards while they’re reworked.
- Muting via Arm Computer can behave oddly; sometimes it shows a player is muted when they’re not, or selecting to unmute a player may take a few attempts to succeed.
General
- Sometimes the gates to the launch tubes are closed when entering a match. They usually reset after a team scores, at which point you can go through them and join your teammates.
Compatibility
- AMD users are having performance issues on older drivers. Please make sure you update your drivers as this should resolve the issue.
