“Echo” — The Power of Authentic

At Echovo, we talk a lot about an “echo.” What exactly does that mean?

When you are on a team and are provided content to share, you are given the option to echo it. Unlike a simple retweet or Facebook share, an echo is a way of amplifying your team’s message, yet having the power to place it on your timeline in your own words and on your own time, thus allowing it to flow into a natural course of content you are sharing with others.

Why, might you ask, is this important? As social platforms have become entirely algorithmic, getting your message noticed has become harder than ever! In the old days, timing and frequency was all you needed — tweet the same message early and often, and you’d increase the probability of getting noticed through little effort.

Spraying the same content across platforms doesn’t work anymore. Tweetbots are still fun but can be problematic for getting your company’s message delivered authentically to the widest audience. Too much automation may reduce the likelihood of your content reaching the timelines of the right people… or anyone at all.

When you are in an Echovo team, you’ll be emailed each time a new echo is available to you to share. There are some basic principles:

  1. From that email, echoes can be sent out in just one tap, the “Echo Now” option. This is perfect for helping your team on the go.
  2. You can also “View in Echovo.” While this lacks the instant gratification of Echo Now, you can quickly head to the app and put the message into your own words. Perhaps you use certain abbreviations on twitter, or would like to add superlatives of your own. We won’t judge you for using “Rad!” appropriately.
  3. Whether you “Echo Now” or edit the content, you control exactly when it shows up on your timeline (until the content expires.) This will help you keep your social presence authentic, and also allow for natural staggering of post times across your team.
  4. You always have the option to not echo anything at all. Silence can be golden for your presence. Of course, that’s not our preference, but you always remain in control of your timeline with Echovo. That’s key to being authentic.

Unlike other methods for mobilizing and tracking social media activity, Echovo empowers each team member while providing some amount of visibility and control for team leaders to know what’s being said about their brand or cause. Echoes are all tracked in our app, so even if your team members share the same news a little differently, this can be measured.

That’s timely, relevant, and authentic social media.
