As expected, 2019 has been an absolutely huge year for ECOMI, and the development of our premium licensed digital collectibles platform is taking us ever closer to launch. Now, with beta testing so close you can almost taste it, we can finally give you a glimpse of what to expect, so you can get your hands on these very limited, trial edition, digital collectibles.
Licensing and Branding: The Key to Adoption
Just in case you’ve missed our earlier articles, we wanted to touch on one of the key strengths of the ECOMI ecosystem before we dive into some images; licensing. With a powerhouse team that has been in the licensing industry for many years, ECOMI has acquired the rights to some of the world's biggest brands to turn/transition their intellectual property into premium digital collectibles.
Aside from utilising established brands, which brings with them their own audiences and fans, licensing also enables creates access to an entirely new audience for content creators. One such license and the first announced by ECOMI is with the loud and vibrant world of tokidoki.
This international lifestyle and apparel brand has a huge range of physical collectible items and accessories and also features a wide variety of characters and iconography, that translate perfectly onto the new digital medium. With a number of global collaborations under their belt, including Barbie, Hello Kitty, and Marvel, tokidoki is constantly attracting new fans and expanding their reach across the globe.

tokidoki: Ready to Be Collected!
The bright and colourful world of tokidoki is being reimagined for the digital age, taking their myriad of available characters and series and turning them into world-class digital collectibles.
After more than a year of working with co-founder and artist Simone Legno, ECOMI is set to release a total of 9 limited edition, trial release tokidoki collectibles when our beta testing opens to the wider public.
Of course, these high-resolution 3D renders are still just a glimpse of what to expect when the platform launches (and we can’t share them all at once!) but these have been handpicked by Simone as some of his favorites, and we couldn’t be happier to share them with the world.
As a reminder, our trial edition collectibles will be very low run, limited edition collectibles, and stamped with unique trial-edition identifiers, so they will always be verifiable as some of the first digital collectibles available on the platform. Of course, for a closer look, you can tap to open the individual images and zoom about to your heart's content!
Second, these are rendered images of what to expect. They are designed to look the best on the latest technology, so to fully appreciate all the features, lighting and shadows you’ll want to view them on high definition/resolution screens.
I’ll also take the time to note that this is only a sneak peek! It is designed not only to show you some of the amazing tokidoki collectibles that will be on offer, but also to showcase the time, details and considerations that have gone into their creation, and the creation of all of our digital collectibles moving forward.
As a reminder- each digital collectible offered by ECOMI is designed to be completely 3-dimensional, and to appear the same way in augmented reality! This means you’ll not only be able to view and interact with your collectibles from all angles, but you’ll also be able to store and display them in virtual showrooms, and/or capture them in your real-world surroundings to share them across the world.
Moreover, the 4 tokidoki collectibles we’re sharing with you are 4 of 9 you can expect to be released with our trial edition releases, and the first tokidoki series release. We’ve included a few different angles to show you just how incredible they are and highlight the adaptable shadows, details, and lighting, but you won’t get the full 3D experience until our beta testing opens to the wider public!
