A Very Brief Explanation on the World of Digital Collectibles
Thanks to a development in computer science, known as the ‘blockchain,’ we can now purchase and own digital files, assets and properties. These properties come in the form of a digital token, which can be traded and sold much like any other asset.
The sale of these tokens is recorded on the blockchain (which is really just a fancy word for ledger) and can be backed by physical assets such as real-estate or gold, digital assets such as crypto-currencies and digital collectibles, or simply verify that the digital asset is legitimate, and who the owner is.

Until recently collectible assets like action figures, trading cards, and memorabilia have always been physical products. However, with the blockchain we can now re-imagine and repurpose our favourite characters and brands to suit our modern, digital world.
These items, which are created as digital versions or digital collectibles, can then be purchased, traded and sold as tokens.
