The ECOMI development team work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that we are constantly providing the best possible product to our users. Thanks to their unending work ethic, we are proud to announce our latest update to the ECOMI app, available now for both Android and iOS. So what does version 1.10.0 include, and why should you be updating immediately?

What’s New in the ECOMI App?

The latest version of the ECOMI app has added a number of new features:

  1. We’ve added a manual sync button. This ensures that your balances display on both the app and on the Secure Wallet e-paper screen. Previously the balances only synchronised after a transaction was made from the Secure Wallet, or you performed a reset and recover.
  2. A ‘looking for card’ modal. Previously, some users had issues with the card timing out (due to the battery saving feature) before it was connected. Now, you are aware of the app searching for the card, and can power it on after the fact.
  3. A ‘preparing transaction’ modal, so you know that everything is working (and to be patient) while preparing your transactions from the Secure Wallet.
  4. Bug fixes.

How Does the Update Work?

This version of the ECOMI app requires your wallet to be restored. This is different, however, to recovering your wallet, and will happen automatically. Once you have downloaded/installed the update, follow the on-screen prompts, or the following instructions if you get stuck:

  1. Start with your Secure Wallet OFF
  2. Open the ECOMI app
  3. The app will search for the Secure Wallet. Turn it ON when it is searching.
  4. The app will update the card firmware and automatically restore your balances. You will see the ‘wallet setup’ screen (below), and once the loading bar is complete, the Secure Wallet will be updated with the new firmware. This process usually only takes a couple of minutes.
  5. Your balances will display as normal on the ECOMI app.

How Do I Use the Sync Feature?

The addition of the ‘sync’ feature means that you can now quickly and efficiently sync the balances between the ECOMI app and the Secure Wallet. Previously, the balances only synchronised after transacting FROM the card.

To use the feature:

  1. Start with the Secure Wallet OFF.
  2. Tap the ‘sync’ button in the top left of the home screen (indicated by the white arrow in the image left).
  3. When prompted, turn on your Secure Wallet, and tap ‘connect’
  4. The green ‘connected’ banner message will appear, and the balances will begin syncing. You will notice the display on the Secure Wallet flashes during this process.
  5. You’ll see the image below when it is successful- it should only take a few seconds to complete.

That’s it! The e-paper display on the Secure Wallet will now match your balances on the ECOMI app, and you can use this new feature any time you wish.

As before, when transacting FROM the Secure Wallet, the balances will automatically synchronise as it pulls data from the app to complete the transaction. When sending TO the Secure Wallet, you can use the sync feature to marry up the display on the ECOMI app and Secure Wallet screen.
