It began with some subtle clues on Instagram and turned into the first-ever Marvel Month on VeVe! August moved rapidly from a new exchange listing into the launch of blind boxes and digital comic NFTs, and the first appearances of Marvel Mightys, Spider-man, and Captain America. With interviews, AMA’s, and everything in between, we want to thank all of you for your participation and support across the month!
Social Growth
A number of social milestones were reached this week, with ECOMI telegram eclipsing 37,000 people, and VeVe discord now home to more than 20,000 collectors! The growth across socials also continues to climb, as we welcome more than 6000 people to the ECOMI Twitter family, and more than 10,000 people to VeVe Twitter.
The VeVe Instagram profile has also seen some incredible growth across the month, welcoming more than 4,000 new followers (a 20% increase over July). VeVe Instagram is often the first place drop content is revealed, so if you don’t already follow the page we strongly suggest it. 📸
OMI Is Now Available on OKEx
August truly started with a bang, as we announced a new listing for the OMI token on OKEx. OKEx is one of the top exchanges in the world, servicing more than 20 million customers in over 200 countries. The exchange is consistently ranked in the top #3 exchanges in the world based on trading volume, and at the time of writing, OKEx is ranked #2.
In celebration of this listing, we also ran a fun giveaway in partnership with OKEx. 2000 lucky participants were rewarded with some OMI tokens, and a further 16 won themselves a Jermaine Rogers NFT. ECOMI x CryptosRus
Coinciding with the new exchange launch it was revealed earlier this month that we had partnered with George from CryptosRus to help introduce OMI and the wider ECOMI ecosystem to a new audience, and keep everyone up to date with our developments in the coming months. VeVe Updates and Developments
Two of the biggest app updates to date launched in August, with blind boxes creating a new way to collect, and digital comics allowing for the first-ever Marvel comic NFTs to go live. The development team has been working tirelessly to bring this to fruition, and as the unsung hero’s of VeVe, we want to extend our sincere thanks to the team for all of their hard work. In Development
In case you’ve missed any of our AMAs recently, there’s a Twitter recap of the most recent one here, and some of the FAQ’s below:
- The MTL is in the final stages of legal sign-off/compliance. We are expecting this to take a few more weeks, and if all goes well should see the first stage implementation of the MTL towards the end of September.
- Immutable migration is progressing well, and we will begin to release content about the process in the coming weeks. As a side note, Immutable have just launched open minting and trading on their platform, so congratulations to the team on that front!
- The AR comic book reader is almost complete and expected to go live with a coming update.
- Showroom v2 is also close to release alongside the ‘empty space’ Showroom, which will allow you to place your collectibles in AR without all the walls!
Marvel Month
The first-ever Marvel Month on VeVe was an incredible way to welcome the mega-brand to the platform, and introduce Marvel fans to VeVe. With it, we have welcomed some incredible support from Marvel, with a range of social posts and shares across Twitter and Instagram, press coverage, and near-instant sell-outs of comic books and premium collectible statues.
But it all began with an Instagram post which ignited curiosities and had everyone guessing at what was coming next. Before you knew it Spider-Man was everywhere you looked, the co-founders and Agent M jumped into an interview, and Marvel Month was officially underway!
Throughout August we have welcomed tens of thousands of new collectors to VeVe, and truly celebrated a number of world firsts:
- The first officially licensed Marvel NFTs
- The first appearance of Spider-Man as an NFT
- The first Marvel digital comic NFTs- beginning with Marvel Comics #1, the first-ever Marvel comic book.
- The first digital comic book appearances of the Fantastic Four, Loki, X-men, Deadpool, and Spider-Man.
- The official debut of Marvel Mightys, an entirely new Marvel brand, and the first-ever blind box drop on the platform.
- The first appearance of Doctor Doom in Marvel Mightys Series 2
The news across the month also made it into more than 100 publications, with some of the most notable including investing.com, the Observer, comicbook.com, BeInCrypto, and bitcoin.com.

AMA’s and Community Conversations
As always there are a number of conversations taking place around here, and August was no different. Earlier in the month, Rhys joined Taps for this AMA, and the Millenial OMI Stream to discuss Marvel Month.
He also took part in an AMA in the OKEx Telegram community to introduce OMI and VeVe to a new community, and a second one that was made available to subscribers of Lark Davis’ newsletter (The Crypto Lark), bringing the latest crypto news and research to his qualified audience.
Trevor took the chance to jump into a stream with Cavell to talk about all things digital assets, and on the 20th Dan jumped into the VeVe discord AMA to deliver some updates on ecosystem development, discuss our blind boxes and comic book releases, VeVeVerse, token utility/integration, and a whole lot more.
In case you missed it, Dan also joined the Digital Entertainment World webinar series, Let’s DEW Lunch: The Rise of NFTs with VeVe, giving everyone more insight into the current ecosystem, the development of NFTs, and a glimpse into the VeVeVerse.
The Women of VeVe have also stepped up this month, with the first WomenxVeVe stream bringing together some of the most prominent women in the family for some weekend conversation. Special thanks go to Wendy for organizing this one!
