ECOMI Monthly Update- Aug 2022
The road to DesignerCon UK began in August with an artist round table ahead of a new round of Dcon collectible releases. We also joined the Web3 NYC gallery show, launched the VeVe Artworks program alongside the first ever Marvel 1/1 Artist Proof NFTs, introduced Vemate to the Fam, bounced to the VeVe Anthem, and of course, released one of the most coveted comic books in the world as an exclusive and readable digital comic NFT!
Getting Started in Crypto with Collective Shift
We get it, crypto is hard, and finding resources that are genuinely built around a desire for education is next to impossible. That’s why we’ve partnered with Collective Shift to bring you real, actionable insights and information to help you make informed decisions with your investments, understand the industry at large, and most importantly how to preserve and protect your hard-earned capital.
We will also be hosting a series of Twitter spaces and webinars to discuss the digital asset industry with the Collective Shift team, teach you how to utilize the platform to its fullest potential, and answer any pressing questions you may have about markets, tokens, investing, and more.

In case you missed it, Rhys recently jumped into a crypto-conversation with the Collective Shift head of research- Matt Willemsen- to discuss markets, lessons, and key takeaways. We will continue to look for opportunities to work with Collective Shift to bring you pertinent updates and information, and if you’re new to the industry implore you to make use of the free resources that are available on their platform.
ECOMI x Vemate
Vemate is a smartphone application that provides quick and easy access to VeVe market data, insights, and opportunities. The application is currently free to use, including the premium features on offer, and will soon offer the same access to token holders in return for staking some OMI!
We’ll release staking instructions when the implementation is ready to ship, however, we want to reiterate that users will maintain full control over their tokens and keys in order to participate.

Vemate joins ECOMI Wiki as the second analytics platform available to VeVe collectors, and we want to extend a warm welcome to their team. As we are gradually opening API access we will be sharing additional platforms and tools with you in the near future, and look forward to continuing to work with the Fam to provide new access and utilities for the OMI token.
Epiko Regal Marketplace is Live!
Epiko Regal is a tower defense game that offers play-to-earn gaming mechanics using the OMI token. Players compete to build and defend their towers and compete for a place on the Epiko leaderboard to earn in-game prizes, OMI rewards, and event invites.
The Epiko ecosystem is supported by their very own NFT marketplace, which is now live at epiko.market. Fans and players can purchase NFTs directly using ERC20 OMI tokens (those on base-chain Ethereum), and a portion of all OMI tokens collected will be awarded as prizes for Epiko Regal players.
A further 10% of all OMI collected will be sent to the VeVe Reserve wallet to be burned by the sale of VeVe NFTs, helping to reduce the circulating supply of OMI tokens!
If you haven’t seen it yet, one of the first NFTs to go live on the Epiko Marketplace is none other than VeVe CEO David Yu- forever immortalized as this incredible 3D piece. The NFT was available for purchase at DesignerCon UK, alongside the limited edition Golden Yu. Limited quantities are still available on the Epiko marketplace if yu’d like to collect your own!

Altcoin Daily- one of the largest crypto-focused Youtube channels- lists OMI as a top token to watch.
The Paul Barron Network recently added the OMI token to their crypto power index. This also led to a more in-depth discussion between Paul and ECOMI/VeVe co-founder and COO Dan, which you can find in the Community Conversations section further down.

The VeVe Artworks Program
The VeVe Artist Program is a pillar of the VeVe digital collectibles experience, and now with the rollout of the VeVe web app, we have recently launched an entirely new vertical on the platform — Artworks!
Participating in a VeVe Artwork auction is available exclusively through the VeVe Web app 🚨
The Artist Program not only adds a new product type to the platform, but it is also bringing both established and up-and-coming artists and licensed collectible Artworks to the VeVe Collector community as extremely limited edition NFTs.
Although the Artworks program started tongue-in-cheek with the release of David Warhol, it has already begun to reshape the way that licensed artists release their exclusive works, thanks to our Marvel Artworks partnership.
An extension of our established partnership with Marvel, the Marvel Artworks program brings licensed 1/1 (up to 1/5) works to the VeVe collector community as limited edition artist proofs. Typically these are the original design pieces that become Marvel Comic covers and offer artists and collectors an entirely new way to connect with their favorite characters and stories, as well as the creators that help to shape them.
Marvel Artist Proofs are made available alongside limited edition pieces from recognizable names on the platform such as Ron English and Brian Viveros, and some are delivered with added utility or physical counterparts.
We look forward to expanding on the VeVe Artwork Program to bring you more of these exclusive and limited edition pieces, as well as the opportunity to introduce you to a range of artists that are newer to the space.

Community Conversations + AMA’s
DesignerCon Round Table
The best way to get to know some of our DesignerCon artists is by speaking to them, and we kicked things off in August with a Dcon round table with Mark Brickey, host of the Adventures in Design podcast.
This live conversation was available on VeVe Twitter Spaces and introduced the Fam to Allison Bamcat, Sket One, and Tara McPherson, who all went on to celebrate successful VeVe releases! Big thanks to all of our artists for joining, and of course, to Mark for hosting.

In August the VeVe co-founders released updates on a range of priorities and features that are currently being worked on, alongside our Dcon UK drop reveal, and the announcement that participants in the first VeVe Artwork auction would receive a Ron English airdrop as our thanks 🙏

Who Needs Sleep?
The VeVe Fam is always getting together for a catch-up and conversation, but there are some special streams that take over the airways and run longer than anyone expected. A BIG shoutout goes to Randy, VeVe Fam Bam, and everyone else who took part in or helped to host this mega stream- it ran for more than 30 hours!

VeVe Updates
As we continue to roll out and refine our payout feature a number of recent announcements and updates have been shared in VeVe discord:
- Payout is now available to all United States including New York.
- Some users in AUS, CAN, MX & BR have been unable to Payout. The issue is now resolved.
- Crypto Payout continues to be paused as we work through technical issues, and prepare the app for crypto pay-in.
- Our Payout provider Wyre is constantly working to expand their global coverage and we expect to be able to announce even wider coverage soon.
VeVe + Web3 Gallery New York
Towards the end of the month VeVe participated in our first-ever gallery show at the Web3 NYC Gallery. Big shoutout and thanks go to Captain Kirk (Kaloscope) and Venkatesh (Epiko Regal) for the invite, and to Web3 NYC for hosting the event.

The event itself was a roaring success, with the first-ever David Yu NFT available for purchase with OMI tokens, alongside a host of other giveaways, promotions, and conversations with builders in the web3 space. VeVe Drops
August marked the one-year anniversary of the first-ever Marvel Digital comic NFT release in the world, Marvel Comics #1. To celebrate, we dropped one of the most prized comic books in existence- Amazing Fantasy #15.
Amazing Fantasy #15 also features the first appearance of the Amazing Spider-Man in any format and follows a young Peter Parker as he gains remarkable abilities from a radioactive spider. In a notable change from the typical superhero lore of the day, he must step up and try to become a hero, while also dealing with the fantastic pressures of an everyday teenager!
AF15 wasn’t the only digital comic NFT to drop on VeVe, with the first appearance of Groot in Tales to Astonish #13, released alongside Marvel Studios premium 3D digital collectible- I Am Groot.
I Am Groot is a series of animated shorts featuring several new and unusual characters and stars everyone’s favorite little tree- Baby Groot! The series, streaming now on Disney+, explores Groot’s glory days growing up — and getting into trouble — among the stars.
She-Hulk also made her first appearance in a digital comic NFT in Savage She-Hulk #1 as a new show of the same name began streaming on Disney+.
We wrapped up the month with Marvel Digital Comics — Amazing Spider-Man #300, featuring the first full appearance of Venom. This Super Limited Edition release features VeVe-Exclusive Rare and Ultra Rare covers by Salvador Larroca & Edgar Delgado, and in case you missed it you can complete your sets in the VeVe Market!
Doc Ock
After an experiment gone wrong, passioned scientist Dr. Otto Octavius fused a set of artificial intelligent mechanical tentacles to his body and brain, leading him to become the powerful supervillain Doctor Octopus. Over the years, he has become one of the most recognizable villains in the Marvel Universe and remains one of Spider-Man’s most dangerous foes.
Three editions were released in August, including the first-ever Marvel Metallic Red edition. Inspired by Marvel’s iconic red logo, this new line of Ultra Rare collectibles features beloved characters coated in metallic red.
