In July, the integration of our new Payout provider went live and is progressively being released to more users. We also saw Stan Lee’s first appearance on the blockchain, VeVe’s return to San Diego Comic-Con with Marvel, and the hotly anticipated announcement of the VeVeVerse closed beta!
VeVe Payout
Payout is a system that allows you to withdraw your Gems from your VeVe wallet and into your bank account in your local currency. This feature was initially made available in early 2022 through a different partner. However, due to their unforeseen closure, a more robust service provider was selected and has now been integrated into the VeVe application.
Access to this feature is being progressively released as per the feature rollout process, and you can learn more about Payout below.
VeVe Welcomes Stan Lee
Revered worldwide by millions of devoted fans, Stan Lee reinvented the comic book genre and co-created some of the best-known, most-beloved superheroes of all time, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, The X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, and countless others.
Stan remains a global icon whose inspirational messages of hope and inclusivity resonate with audiences in every corner of the globe. Stan’s signature saying “Excelsior!” — meaning “ever upward” — still inspires his legions of fans as we celebrate what would have been his centennial birth year.
In July, VeVe dropped four chibi-style digital collectibles in blind box format to the delight of fans and collectors alike. The release also made news headlines, and the details were shared by Bloomberg, Licensing International, Globe News Wire, and NFT media outlets.
VeVe Drops
Stan Lee was just one of many incredible digital collectible NFT releases on VeVe in July, which also saw the first appearance of:
- Tezuka Productions Astro Boy
- Dreamworks Kung Fu Panda
- Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles
Special mention also goes to Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Arcade Character Series, which is the first series in a collection of five Walt Disney Animation Studio collectible drops.
Collecting from each series will see you airdropped a special pencil that can be used to craft a Disney Animation Desk. The five-part series includes:
- Disney Wreck-It Ralph Arcade Character Series
- Disney Frozen Arendelle Character Series
- Disney Lion King Pride Rock Character Series
- Disney Peter Pan Neverland Character Series
- Disney Aladdin Diamond in the Rough Character Series
Details:
- Purchasing a collectible in any of the five drops listed above entitles the holder to one airdropped Pencil (one airdropped Pencil per user per series).
- Collect all five different Walt Disney Animation Studio Pencils to craft one Animation Desk (pencils can also be purchased from the VeVe Market should you miss it on drop day).
- You will have until Sunday, 31 December 2023, to acquire all (5) pencils and be eligible to craft the Animation Desk.
- All five Pencils will be burned in the crafting process, and the user will receive the Crafted Animation Desk.
DISCLAIMER: The above release order, series, series names, and collectibles may change over the course of the Animation Desk program. The visualization of the animation desk may also change before crafting is available.
Incredible Hulk (1962) #1
Marvel comic fans rejoiced in July with the release of Incredible Hulk (1962) #1- the first appearance of the Incredible Hulk!
This incredibly limited Edition release comes fully readable, with five variant covers, and was released in blind box format. If you missed it, you can collect this comic in the Market or get all the details in the wrap-up video below!
VeVe x Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con
In July VeVe returned to San Diego Comic-Con with brand partners Marvel, showing off the Marvel Mightys and, of course, introducing VeVe to some of the biggest Marvel fans in the world!
New users can now download and explore the VeVe app and make their first purchase or redeem a promo code without needing to pass KYC verification first, making it much easier to showcase all of VeVe’s unique features to a brand-new audience.
Aside from an absolutely stacked lineup of Marvel Con-exclusive releases, which included the animated and interactive Iron Man, VeVe Collectors may have noticed a few additional secret rare and very limited edition releases also took place across the weekend.
Corey was also out in the field, capturing special moments and wrapping them up for everyone watching from home, and as usual VeVe Twitter also kept the Fam updated across the weekend.

VeVe App Updates
Every ~2 weeks, the VeVe development team rolls out new app updates and optimizations which you can keep track of here. The most notable updates in July (Version v1.251) include:
- The VeVe Social Feed is now available on the Web app! Post your favorite digital collectibles, share Market listings, and more
- Add Comics to your Wishlist so you can easily find them later
- Customize your in-app notification settings for new followers and comments
- Resolved issue with the Waitlist timer countdown
- Deployed a fix for user profile images in the mobile app
- UI/UX enhancements, including a new loading animation
- Various bug fixes, optimizations, and enhancements
VeVeVerse Closed Beta
The VeVeVerse is the next step in social connectivity and world-building, adding an entirely new and fully customizable layer to the VeVe Collectibles experience and giving you brand new ways to connect with other Collectors in the digital space.
This release has been one of the most anticipated ecosystem developments since the VeVe journey began, and we are incredibly excited to announce that closed beta invites have now been released.
The goal is for this group to work with the VeVeVerse team to review features and report any beta-related issues. Based on that feedback, we’ll determine the next group of beta testers to be invited and update our socials when they have been released.
In Case You Missed It
The VeVe app is now available in a number of new languages, helping collectors to enjoy the digital collectibles experience in their native tongue. At the time of writing, you can now toggle between English, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Japanese, with additional languages to be added over time.
VeVe has also recently signed an MOU with Alibaba Cloud as we look ahead to expand the product into China and the greater Asian region.
