The man behind the technical operations of ECOMI, manager of the dev team, and all around problem solver, Mikel Duffy brings a wealth of blockchain knowledge and experience to ECOMI project.
With a degree in Science (Computer Science) and following up with a PhD in Philosophy (Interdisciplinary Sciences) from the International Technology University (ITU), Mikel took an interest in software solutions and design, completing a full-stack development program in software engineering through Hack Reactor.

Professionally, Mikel began his career at ITU as the IT Manager, before becoming an Associate Director of Innovation, where he managed a team of 40 IT professionals, expanding the two-member engineering team into a full software development pipeline. He was introduced to Bitcoin and blockchain in 2012, and recognised the potential of this technology:
“After the 2008 US housing market crash it was clear that an alternative system or collection of systems would be necessary for humanity to avoid repeating these mistakes. I believe that the current and future applications of trust-less digital ledgers are many, and it is a very exciting time to be building the future of this growing industry.”
Before joining the ECOMI team, Mikel worked as a software engineer for Amplified AI, and was the Technical Lead in KPMG’s Blockchain Advisory Department in Taipei, where he developed upgradable Solidity smart contracts for a private PoA Ethereum blockchain network.
Moving forward, and true to his nature, Mikel is excited about designing and implementing innovative solutions to solve the current problems of crypto. With the imminent release of the Secure Wallet and companion app- which Mikel and his dev team have built- we asked what excites him the most about the ECOMI project:
Convenience and security remain to be two of the biggest hurdles for mass adoption of crypto. The ECOMI Secure Wallet, and soon ECOMI One, will solve these problems by providing users with a simple and secure way of using currencies of any type, by integrating both traditional and modern financial systems.
