Finishing off our series on cart abandonment, we have the top cart recovery tools of the year. Cart recovery tools use a variety of techniques to catch your customer in the abandonment process and reel them back in. Cart recovery is often done via email but can also be done with Facebook Messenger, website pop-ups, and live chat, while some focus specifically on Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce. While each of these applications serve a variety of functions, they will be ordered by price so you can find something that fits your shop’s budget.

Free Persistent Cart App for Shopify

Free eCommerce tools are hard to come by. The Free Persistent Cart App is free forever and works automatically in the background after installation. This tool allows you to target cross-device shoppers who may start a cart on desktop and complete checkout on mobile. ConsistentCart does the same thing.

Marsello Abandoned Cart Recovery

Marsello’s cart recovery application is fully automated and customizable to your shop. The app lets you customize and create recovery emails, Facebook messages, exit-intent pop-ups, and persistent carts. There are a plethora of ways to make these digital marketing strategies unique to your shop, and at this price point, seems like a great bang for your buck.

Chatra Live-Chat and Cart Saver Plugin

Chatra allows you to communicate with and assist customers in real-time wherever you are. This app helps shop owners learn more about shoppers and reasons why visitors may not be converting. In addition to real-time visitor lists and exit-intent detection, Chatra offers Facebook Messenger and email integration to seamlessly transfer over communications with customers.

Price: “free forever plan” or $15 per agent per month.

Booster Apps Abandoned Cart Messenger

Booster Apps’s Abandoned Cart Messenger tool harnesses the power of Facebook Messenger to keep in touch with your shoppers. Open rates are much higher on Messenger than email, so eCommerce shops big and small are turning to Messenger as a tool to boost conversions. If a shopper abandons their cart, this app will send them reminders about their cart on Facebook Messenger. It’s mobile friendly and doesn’t require any code.

BigCommerce Cart Abandonment Software

This application is BigCommerce-specific and claims to recover 15% of abandoned carts on average. It allows you to customize recovery emails, add discounts, and even provides analytics to track performance. This software can also help streamline your checkout process and convert visitors.

There are three plans: standard, plus, and pro for $29.95, $79.95, and $299.95, respectively. There seems to be an option for each level of eCommerce shop, from beginning to advanced. Even the standard plan includes a list of helpful features and is a great place to start for the basics. You can also do a 14 day free trial if you’re unsure.

AutomateWoo for recovery emails

Similar to the BigCommerce cart recovery software, AutomateWoo is an all encompassing app to send follow up discounts, targeted emails, and track clicks, opens, and conversion from your Wordpress backend.

Price: $99/year

Keep in mind, there are a plethora of digital marketing/cart recovery tools out there. Some are tailored to specific eCommerce platforms and some can be integrated across many applications. Whether you want something that focuses on mobile, emails, or something all encompassing, you are sure to find an option that fits your needs and budget.
