My Cathedral of Stars

The roof of my cathedral is sprinkled with stars
I gasp as a shooting star slices the Milky Way
A celestial river splashing across the sky-world
This wondrous galaxy has captivated me since childhood
Growing up on the equator of our common home
I had often wondered about its origins
Just as your ancestors and mine must have ruminated
Of life and how they came to be here…
