I consider myself a seasoned sex worker. I have years of experience working in different sectors of the sex industry. From phone-sex work, to camming, to amateur porn, to dommng, to sugar dating, to escorting — I’ve dipped my toes in these sex-industry fields, getting my feet wet. Heck, I’ve dived in headfirst.

But the question remains: why as a college-educated woman I choose to do sex work?

Typically sex workers are viewed as desperate women whose opportunities have dried up. A woman has nowhere else to turn and so she makes the tough decision to begin to sell her body for money.

This is a narrative that might have held true at some point in the past but it’s definitely not true anymore. Or at least it’s not always true. To begin, the world has changed. Today, there are many different ways to be a sex worker.

With the advent of virtual sex work, a woman isn’t even required to have sex with her clients to earn money offering sexual services. She can do phone sex, or cam, or sell naked photos on…
