Edge Analytics AI Residency Program Launch
We are excited to announce the launch of the Edge Analytics AI Residency Program for Fall 2022! At Edge, we are dedicated to continuous learning. The AI Residency Program is our latest investment for ensuring we continue working with the best, brightest people in data science.
Why?
We love learning. We have built a culture of learning and growth at Edge, and are very intentional about how we demonstrate and explore that. Some examples include our weekly cool tools (YouTube channel), monthly continuous-learning deep dives, focus groups around dedicated topics, and of course, our Edge Blog. We’re particularly proud of our Software Testing YouTube video series, which evolved out of one of our focus groups!
The Edge Analytics AI Residency Program is the natural evolution of The Edge Process, which places emphasis on the investment into the growth and learning of the Edge team. This benefits our team as well as our clients, because we are always able to share our learnings and provide cutting edge innovations.
What is it?
At Edge, we seek out experts in their field of study. Our team is composed of people who are passionate problem solvers and have an insatiable appetite for learning. Experience solving data science, machine learning, and software problems in a production-level environment is critical to the work we do with our clients. But, we recognize this is not always aligned with the experiences of otherwise brilliant problem solvers that would bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the Edge team and clients. We want to provide an opportunity for amazing people to gain exposure and experience in a production environment.
The Edge Analytics AI Residency Program provides mentorship to our residents and enables them to experience real, hands-on work producing algorithms for our clients (check out some of our past and current projects here). The timeline of the program is flexible, and can range from 3–6 months. Edge AI Residents are equal contributors and fully integrated into the Edge team — they will work closely with us to bring value to our clients from day one.
Who is a good fit?
We are looking for passionate problem solvers who are experts in their domain. Prospective residents must be able to program in Python and have a foundational knowledge of data science/machine learning and/or software engineering.

Introducing our Inaugural Edge AI Resident
We are so excited to introduce our inaugural Edge AI Resident, Don Wei! Don has an MD and a PhD in neuroscience. He recently completed a research fellowship applying ML approaches in systems neuroscience, and is currently an attending physician in psychiatry at UCLA. Don is passionate about bringing more data science/machine learning methodologies to biomedical research and health-related applications.
Don will be working on a project at a Fortune 500 company, where he will develop algorithms in a production-level environment under the mentorship of the Edge team.
