2022 has been the year of ML and data. It has given us incredible models that have sparked public enthusiasm (like DALLE-2 and Imagen), advancements on the convergence of hardware and AI (like the NVIDIA Grace CPU), and has been defined as the year of a “synthetic data revolution” (can we give Infinity AI credit for this one?).
At Edge, 2022 has been filled with exciting innovations from our partners, new additions to the team, and a new frontier for outreach (YouTube). We wanted to take a break this summer to share some highlights with all of you!

What does Edge Analytics do?
Edge Analytics is a machine learning and data science consulting company. Edge was born out of a collective desire to work with our friends and make a positive difference in the world. We are a small team of ML engineers who partner with companies to ship cutting-edge algorithms.
Innovative Products from our Amazing Partners
Here are just a few highlights from the amazing partners we have been working with in 2022!
Sensorized Bionic Clothing shows high efficacy in research study, gains FDA clearance, and is releasing to the public this fall
CIONIC, one of our major partners that helps people transcend physical limitations, has been in the news a lot lately (perhaps you saw them on ABC7 or CBS)! This spring, they received FDA 510k clearance for the Cionic Neural Sleeve and will be releasing the bionic sleeve this fall. Participant trials culminated in a research paper (currently a preprint with Edge team members Ren and Brinnae as authors) showing that 94% of participants felt a reduction in the effects of foot drop when using the Cionic Neural Sleeve. Consumer Product with Fortune 500 Company being released this fall!
We continued close collaboration with one of our major partners to build algorithms and firmware infrastructure for a consumer product. The product will be shipped this fall and will be in the hands of [hopefully delighted] users around the world!
Our spinout company has been hard at work!
Last year we spun out our first company from the Edge Incubator — Infinity AI! Since then, Infinity has:
- Released several open-source synthetic datasets on the Infinity Marketplace
- Built a scalable API infrastructure that has allowed their customers to generate over 3.5M synthetic data frames (at the click of a button!)
- Started working with most of the top Remote Fitness brands, and is now expanding into the Smart Facility space
We’re really proud of Infinity and can’t wait to see what they do next!

Edge Team Highlights
Here are just a few team highlights from the Edge team in 2022!
- We welcomed Joshua D’Arcy, MD, M.Eng to the Edge team this spring! Joshua is a talented ML Engineer and an incredible human, and we are so excited to have him be a part of the Edge family.
- We wrote 5 blogs this year: How Edge is building a strong sense of community through virtual traditions, Top Resources for Starting Out in Data Science, Why did you get into data science?, On the Cutting Edge Technologies [2022 edition], and Interpretability tools for understanding your machine learning models (part 1)
- We started the Edge YouTube channel and uploaded 10+ fun and informative videos in #datascience, #machinelearning, and #softwareengineering! Check out tutorials by our talented team on everything from creating animations in matplotlib, to virtual machines on the google cloud platform, to using pivot tables!
