“Edgefund fundamentally changes the online gambling landscape for game developers, opening up unparalleled liquidity at literally no risk.”

This is such a massive shift from the status quo, that it almost sounds too hard to believe. However, stick with me and I’ll explain how this works.

Fixed odds games are those casino games in which the odds always remain the same. Online slots, and indeed all virtual games with outcomes based on random number generation come with a fixed edge determined by software that generates extremely long sequences of numbers. Under the traditional fixed odds method, game operators must maintain a significant bank roll, which will fluctuate significantly as gamblers win or lose.

What EdgeFund is proposing, is for an operator to launch a game with zero bankroll, but they will make a guaranteed return on every bet that they take. When a game operator builds a game on the EdgeFund bankroll, they are guaranteed a profit; no outlay, no risk, guaranteed money!

Still sounds too good to be true? Read on…

EdgeFund will maintain a large and shared bankroll, cryptographically protected and accessed on the Ethereum network. EdgeFund will offer the mathematically lowest possible odds for any given bet. Typically, this is significantly lower than the odds offered on a fixed price game.

For example, the expected value (EV) of a (European) roulette bet is ~2.7% (1/37). EdgeFund can offer a roulette style bet at significantly shorter odds, let’s say 0.1%. An operator taking a $100 bet on a number on roulette, using EdgeFund, will be guaranteed a 2.6% profit on that bet. An operator using traditional methods faces either a $100 win, or a $3,600 loss. EdgeFund can and will absorb all of that risk for ~$0.10.

How can EdgeFund do this?

We will centralise and democratise access to a very large bank roll, and payout bets at the mathematically lowest odds. The more games built on the platform, the bigger the bankroll becomes, and the shorter the odds get. This represents a significant step forward for game developers. For the first time ever anyone can develop and deploy a fixed odds betting game as easily as any other application.

One of the most exciting aspects about building such a platform, is waiting to see how many new and interesting ideas the global development community will come up with… so, let the games begin!
