Here at Edgybees, we take pride in having developed the world’s first dedicated augmented reality technology for high speed moving platforms. First responders worldwide, such as police officers, paramedics, and firefighters found many ways to make use of our real-time AR overlays in the name of public safety. You can learn more about that in our previous post, which covers highlights from our first webinar with DJI on visual intelligence for first responders.

In that webinar, there was a special appearance by Tim Davis, the Network Administrator of the Alachua County Fire Rescue. During the webinar, Tim went into detail about the UAS team development, equipment being used by the team, and the many benefits of using Edgybees in fire rescue operations.

So we decided to go into detail about additional software solutions that fire departments can find particularly beneficial, not only for rescue operations, but also daily operations. Please note, we are not affiliated with any of the services that are being recommended- this is all based on reviews.

  • CityReporter
CityReporter was developed with input from fire chiefs in cities across North America. It contains a library of fire inspection checklists based on the national fire code. This allows fire prevention officers to get started with inspections immediately after installing property lists in the software.
  • Rhodium Incident Management
The Rhodium Incident Management Suite provides a complete command and control solution allowing you to quickly consolidate information, coordinate assets, and act. From day-to-day incidents to large scale, multi-agency responses, Rhodium is intuitive and scalable to any situation.
  • Dossier Fleet Maintenance
The fleet maintenance software of choice of over 4,000 private, for-hire and public fleets, Dossier lowers costs and downtime by automating control of your fleet’s records, PM scheduling, repair orders and histories, fuel costs and MPG, cost control with cost per mile/hr, parts inventory control with auto reordering, work pending and campaign management. It’s also great for budget management, warranty management, tire management, vendor and labor control, license/permit renewals, driver control, fleet benchmarking, VMRS codes and more.
  • Rescue Hub
Rescue Hub is an online software platform for delivering & tracking Fire/EMS training. Put all of your paper rosters, skill verification sheets, and training documents on your own private training site, accessible to your personnel with a smart phone or tablet. Rescue Hub gives you the tools to create your own online training, assign training tasks, schedule training, track progress towards meeting your departments training requirements, and host your own training videos, all in one place.
  • 921Docs
Public Fire Investigators have noticed the pendulum continues to swing toward “Cost vs. Quality.” Although they conduct good investigations, they don’t have sufficient time to document the Fire Scene and generate a thorough report. 921Docs Software Modules make it easy for Fire Investigators to generate consistent Origin & Cause Reports, and document that the “Best Practices” in NFPA 921 were considered, and the requirements of NFPA 1033 were met.

There’s so much more amazing software that’s available for fire departments to make use of. Do you have any recommendations? Let us know in the comments below!
