At Edible, we’re all about accommodating dietary restrictions. Our co-founder and CEO started the company because of severe dairy and soy allergies. We’ve implemented weekly company-wide diets that make those of us without dietary restrictions empathize with those who do.

While collecting data on restaurant menus, we naturally started to create guides to figure out the types of food that fall under different diets. We don’t always have a vegan on the phone with restaurants nitpicking details about casein and bee pollen, so we needed quick introductory guides that we could distribute internally.

We started out with gluten-free, vegan, pescetarian, and vegetarian guides (our app’s currently supported diets). We’ve recently added paleo and keto in preparation for future updates. Have feedback or a diet that you’d like us to create a guide for next? Drop us a line at media@edibleproject.io.

Process

In addition to dairy-free and soy-allergies, our team also has personal experience with vegetarian diets. We browsed the web, looked at what research said about the dangers and benefits of these diets, and reached out to redditors, facebook groups and friends to get feedback.

The Guides

PDF versions of all the guides can be found at www.edibleproject.io/guides. To help improve these guides, leave feedback in the comments or send an email to media@edibleproject.io.

Special thanks goes out to Mitch Johnston and Kirsten Erikkson for their help on the gluten-free and vegan guides respectively!
