Mindtree and Campus Minds

Mindtree has been hiring a lot of fresh graduates who just come out of college. A lot of Technical Support and Software Engineers are being hired from past 2–3 years. Mindtree employees are called as Mindtree Minds. Does Mindtree think that Campus Minds(hired from college) are going to lead company’s future? Does it think young and energetic graduates hold the key to change the technology? How is this hiring culture helping Mindtree develop as a leader in the industry?

I see this story as 2 parts. One, which is seen from outside the Mindtree, two, which is seen from inside the Mindtree. The first part is more or less related to how IT industry see Mindtree’s growth. Second part is more related to how Mindtree’s employees cherish their personal growth benefiting company as a whole.

IT industry is going through period of historical change. And engineers of today are driving that change. The era of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Automation has just begun and the companies that embrace these technologies will become clear winner. Over the past one year, Mindtree has significantly worked in these areas and has been able to achieve greater results. It is also successful in convincing clients about it’s potential in these emerging technologies. The result of which Mindtree has added newer accounts in to it’s ledger. The constant growth of company has also activated bullish mode in stock market over the past few months.

Kalinga Minds, they call the minds who are trained in Mindtree Kalinga situated in Bhubaneswar. Company has bet on this State-of-the-Art Campus in 2015, from then freshly hired college graduates are trained on various fields of IT. Mindtree stands on:

It seems that nurturing the young talents has become key priority of Mindtree. It has added more numbers of freshers into it’s workforce. I think Mindtree believes that freshly graduated minds are capable of performing better than an experienced minds who are stuck in a single role for a longer time.

Tryst with Kalinga

Mindtree Kalinga is a dream of it’s founder member Subroto Bagchi. Built on the area of 20 acres in the year 2015, this facility is known for experiential teaching methodologies that includes HIVE model from Harvard university, TEAL model from MIT. The campus is aimed at grooming the ‘Engineers of Tomorrow’.

Mindtree Kalinga is built on four layers of infrastructure — Physical, Digital, Intellectual and Emotional, to create a convivial and collaborative learning atmosphere.

The training program is called as ‘Orchard Learning Program’. The program will be scheduled for the period of 90 days, during which freshly hired campus minds will be trained across various domains. Situated in the middle of the nature this campus is favorite to all campus minds. Mindtree Kalinga has trained more than 6000 campus minds over the last 3 years. Once on the floor, these Kalinga Minds have added significant value to the work and also they are successful in handling the various roles in the organisation.

What Makes Mindtree Special?

There’s a perfect relationship between Mindtree and it’s employees. The driving force for this, are the companies various policies.

Learn and be ready for future: Employees are encouraged to learn new technologies regularly. Company will schedule various internal training for employees to have the new skills added into their profile.

Approach anyone for help: Employees can approach anyone for help in case they are unable to find a solution of a problem.

Collaborative Spirit, Expert Thinking and Unrelenting Dedication: As they say these are the principles of Mindtree. These 3 principles are the biggest driving force for the change.

Customer’s Customer satisfaction: Mindtree is in B2B market and over the years it has achieved the customer’s customers satisfaction and accomplished the key objectives and had a stronger focus on developing efficient strategies and processes to drive the revenue growth.

If there is something that’s going to happen in near future is tremendous growth of company and the engineers. The very reason for this is the Mindtree’s policy of continuous learning and improved skill sets. I think Mindtree’s future team of experts includes most of the today’s campus minds.
