This is the timeline of Fulbright scholarship in Pakistan

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) is one of the 51 ‘Fulbright Commissions’ throughout the world. It was founded in 1950 by the government of Pakistan and America. USEFP offers a number of scholarships to Undergraduate, Graduate and PhD students of Pakistan to help them pursue their education in the land of opportunities; United States of America. It also offers fellowships to worked professionals and teachers of Pakistan to acquire new skills and contribute toward the betterment of their country.

This program is funded by USAID and is open these days for Master’s and PhD students. Let’s talk about what it offers and the deadlines.

What does the Fulbright Degree Program covers?

First check your eligibility criteria
Check if you meet the eligibility criteria.

• To apply for a Master’s degree, you should have completed 16 years of education from an accredited university. You can either have a 4 year Bachelor’s degree or a two year Bachelor’s with a two year Master’s to be eligible for this fellowship.
• To apply for a PhD, you should have a minimum of 18 years of education i.e. an MPhil or Master’s after your Bachelor’s degree.

Application Cycle
Applications for intake 2018 started in February and will end on 17th May 2017. Mark your calendars! You can NOT miss this.

After the deadline, the applications will be reviewed and the successful candidates will have their interviews till September. The must awaited results will be announced in mid of October.

In the next step, the university placement procedure will be done till February 2018 and you will be interviewed for your visa in June 2018. Finally, you will be able to pack up your bags and fly off to US in July or August 2018.

GRE
The deadline to submit your GRE score is May 17th, 2017. Report your official or unofficial score if you have it.

You must submit the registration slip IF in any case you are submitting your online application before May 17th. The GRE test must be taken before this deadline.

TOEFL
Only short-listed applicants are required to take the TOEFL. IELTS is not accepted.

Fee
If you are wondering if there is any application fee, well, there is not. Just ace your GRE and apply timely to get selected and fly on that plane waiting for you.
