Coldplay Brings Out Shawn Mendes for Surprise ‘Fix You’ Duet

Coldplay brought a surprise to their fans during a concert at Munich’s Olympiastadion this Thursday. Midway through their set, Chris Martin welcomed special guest Shawn Mendes to join him for a performance of “Fix You”.

Videos shared on social media show Martin at the piano with Mendes lending his vocals. The crowd was clearly excited for the collaboration between the two hitmakers. At one point, Mendes encouraged everyone to sing louder while delivering emotive lines from the 2005 ballad.

Martin then let Mendes take centerstage for the song’s conclusion. Fans waved lights as the Canadian singer softly delivered the final verses alone.

The surprise duet occurred just days after Mendes unveiled two new singles from his upcoming fifth studio album. Titled “Shawn”, the record is due out in October and follows his successful 2018 self-titled LP.

Coincidentally, Coldplay also has a new album on the horizon named “Moon Music”. Frontman Chris Martin was spotted writing out the tracklist, which consists of 10 songs including collaborations with artists like Little Simz and Burna Boy.
