Billie Eilish recently contributed one of her biggest hit songs, “When the Party’s Over,” to a new campaign commercial for Vice President Kamala Harris. The ad tells the traumatic story of Hadley Duvall, an advocate for reproductive choice who fell pregnant at only 12 years old after being raped by her stepfather.

Though Duvall was thankfully able to obtain an abortion back when Roe v. Wade still protected that right, she cautions that with that landmark decision now overturned, young girls will no longer have access to such critical medical care — even in nightmarish cases of incest or sexual assault. Eilish’s signature chorus plays softly in the background as Harris expresses support for the ad’s message.

Eilish and her brother Finneas publicly endorsed Harris’ candidacy. “We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy. We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future.” The commercial and celebrity endorsements aimed to underscore the grave stakes of this election regarding reproductive rights and healthcare accessibility.
